Over 1,100 Members in Upstate New York Gather For 1199 Family And Friends Day At Six Flags Darien Lake

Five years ago, it began with 58 members from Buffalo. This year, 1199 Family and Friends Day has grown to over 1,000 members from all across Upstate New York. Family and Friends is a relaxing day at Darien Lake Amusement Park where 1199 members, their families and friends can gather and enjoy a picnic, raffles and the other festivities Darien Lake has to offer.

Eight hundred nursing home workers at four McGuire facilities in western New York--Autumnview Manor, Garden Gate Manor, North Gate Manor, and Seneca Manor--overwhelmingly ratified new a labor agreement at votes at each of the homes last past week. The contract is a four-year agreement with a full economic reopener in two years.

W. New York Nursing Home Workers Win New Contract

Workers at The Cloisters Adult Residential Care Facility in Warsaw, NY, have ratified a new labor agreement. Improvements were made to contract language such as the grievance procedure, union orientation, notification of approval of requested time off and the list of employees willing to be called in. Workers will receive a $0.20 hourly wage increase pending ratification, with full economic reopeners in 2011 and 2012.
