W. New York Nursing Home Workers Win New Contract

Workers at The Cloisters Adult Residential Care Facility in Warsaw, NY, have ratified a new labor agreement. Improvements were made to contract language such as the grievance procedure, union orientation, notification of approval of requested time off and the list of employees willing to be called in. That contract preserves the members’ world-class comprehensive healthcare benefits with no out-of-pocket expenses, and stabilizes the 1199 Pension Fund through April 2015.
