iSpeak: Resolutions For The Union

Last week, we asked what your personal resolution was for the New Year. Now, please tell us what your New Year's resolution would be for 1199SEIU.

My wish for the coming year is that our Union leaders will be given new insight to lead and to take care of people like myself, my spouse and all people in need wirh health care, medication and services, God bless you all.

My resolution for the New Year is very important for me: lose weight for my health. And why not? Be nicer and attractive. Also, not to spend my money on things that are not necessary.

I think that 1199SEIU is the best thing that can happen to us in this place. Thanks for been there for us. My resolution for this year is to stop the owner of Medford Multicare Center from playing games with us, such as harassing me and other employees in the kitchen. Please let’s do something. Thanks,

I want to be more active in educating the members on the different programs the Union has to offer and to let them know that being an activist obligates them to nothing.

While our Union forges forward in its focus of national expansion and political action, maintaining strong leadership on the local level should be one of our union's 2008 resolutions as well. I'd like to see more recruitment of organizers and continuous training and mentorship of our Delegates.

Healthier eating habits, more fruits, nuts, salads and water, less diet soda, cookies and cakes. No more McDonalds, Burger King, pizza and fried chicken.

My personal resolution is to focus on plan A   Don't consider that there is a plan B until I have given my plan A my intensity. If plan B is conceived before I have given A my strength, I have no faith and without faith I am hopeless.
