I am still waiting for a presidential candidate that I feel represents my needs. However, if there isn't such a person, I may take a chance with Senator Obama. I like his universal healthcare plan for all individuals.

How can a candidate such as Hillary Clinton represent my interests in seeing an end to the war in Iraq when she accepts money from the "defense" companies? How can I have faith in the current system when a proposition in Oregon to increase the tobacco tax faces an uphill battle because the tobacco companies are able to spend four times as much to defeat it as a majority in support of the measure were able to spend? The bottom line, my friends, is that politics is a sham. It is controlled by monied interests, and it is a waste of time and effort to hope that we will benefit from the lesser of two evils. Instead, I suggest we use our political action monies to move from political organizing to community organizing. Let's organize the people and the politicians will hear us louder than the largest campaign contribution or endorsement. Let's fight to change the system rather than validate it with our support. Let us look to the civil rights movement, the movement for women's suffrage, the movement for the right to form unions as our guide and let us show them that we will not wait!

I think Edwards best speaks to union interests. My very favorite is Kucinich, but he hasn't the money to be considered a viable candidate.

I would opt for Hillary Clinton because she has lived in the White House with the President for eight years and is aware of the economic and political arena of not only the U.S. but the world.

I'm more comfortable with Senator Hillary Clinton for her past experience as a First Lady and new experience in the Senate. She will be very helpful for healthcare.

None of the candidates speak for us. Approximately one year ago, the current US president said the solution to the healthcare problem is that we should go out and shop for our own health care. So I called my physician to ask what it costs to have an appointment and was told "between $50 and $250 dollars". The determination of cost is apparently based on a super secret formula that we are not privy to. The bottom line is that when you are sick or in pain, you don't ask what it costs--you just want it fixed. There is no candidate who is speaking to that need. Until there is a candidate who will come out and speak to health care as it relates to human beings and not just business needs, there will be no reform. Remember that when the current president espoused this opinion, no one - no Republican or Democrat - said anything.

Even though I like John Edwards, I think Hillary would make an excellent president. She has experience and would put our health care first, because has always been outspoken about our healthcare system and she has Bill as her mentor. And 1199 just loves Bill and he would guide her in the right direction.

The Presidential candidate I feel best represents the interest of me and my family is Hillary Clinton. I choose her because of her beliefs and her support for minorities and foreigners. Her years of experience in politics would make her an excellent President. Behind every good man is a smart and strong woman. Her husband was one of the best Presidents we ever had. I support her 100 percent.

I feel Obama will be the best person. He seems to be straightforward in what he wants to do for the country. Health care right now is a big issue. He wants to make sure all Americans can have the health care needed.

I appreciate the opportunity to choose the candidate that I believe will best represent working people's goals, cares and concerns. My choice is Hillary Clinton. She has been a strong advocate for New Yorkers, especially for those in health care.

As in many Democratic Presidential primary races, there are usually more then one candidate that have some of the elements to represent working families’ needs. From Dennis Kucinich’s stand against the Iraq war and his opposition to NAFTA to John Edwards’ sudden surge to courting labor with his newfound commitment to working families. However one candidate stands out head and shoulders above the rest as a person who will stand up for working folks, seniors, single moms, minority groups, children, the disabled as well as our environment, all the while having a substantive plan that will get implemented and be successful. I have always supported the candidate that stands on principle without determining which way the wind is blowing or poll studying. To me Hillary Clinton has proven to be that candidate. A candidate with a plan for labor and senior citizens and single moms and minority groups and, as importantly, for those concerned working families that still regard our military might and homeland security as important piece to our ability to lead the free world once again. The health of our great Union and nation hinges on electing Hillary Clinton.

Absolutely Hillary Clinton. We will get Bill and Hil! Bill Clinton has been a longtime supporter of 1199, and Hillary has been "done dirty" for far too long.

Hillary Clinton has the experience, plus she has the availability of her husband to be an excellant foreign ambassador to help us regain our lost image in the eyes of the world. No other candidate comes close in this respect. Hillary, together with a more Democratic congress and senate should be able to reverse some of the bad effects inflicted on our 1199 workers and retirees.

Hillary Clinton, because she cares about the healthcare industry and about immigration problems. I am a citizen but my husband, who comes from El Salvador, has been a victim of the immigration laws.
