I would like John Edwards to be VP. Zoila Sylvester Special procedure tech NY Presbyterian Hospital NYC |
I feel like it’s time for an African-American and a woman too—but not Hillary! I believe that [California’s Sen. Diane] Feinstein has conciliatory and unity strengths that the Democrats need. As well, there would be representation from each side of the country. I do hope and pray that all Democrats and many, many Republicans and others will vote for Mr. Obama. God bless him, his family and supporters.

I would like a ticket with Obama and John Mc Cain, with Obama on top of the ticket. It will be nice since McCain has military experience and Obama has a plan to change America from the bottom up. Remember we are Americans, and we have the ability to come together as we leave our differences aside. This union of them would fix the economy; our dependence on oil, and the broken real estate market. Let's do it for our future and the rest of the world. Let show the rest of the world that we can be united.

My first-choice is (and would be, if he changes his position) John Edwards. Why? Because, his views are in many ways, similar to Obama, and Hillary. And, I met him, during the 2004 campaign, when working in Ohio, on the campaign, as a "Hero."
However, if Edwards decides to remain non-committed to a VP slot, then my second-choice would be Bill Richardson. He is very-strong on foreign affairs, which would complement the ticket, with the Independents. And, he would likely, help with those Hispanic-Americans who are not on-board.

My opinion is that Hillary Clinton should be the vice-president because she has the support of majority of the electorate and this can help Obama to defeat McCain in the general elections. Rafael Colon Nursing assistant C.R.M.C. Harris, NY

I believe Bill Richardson or Joseph Biden would be a good choice.

I should hope he chooses Hillary Clinton. In the past we have supported Hillary, therefore, supporting her for VP is good. Sarah Barnes Retired Dietitian

Obama's running mate should be someone more mature, who will pull in more votes, e.g General Colin Powell. That would be an amazing ticket. Helena Prisco Maimonides Developmental Center Brooklyn, NY

Hillary should be the Vice President. Without her, Obama will not be President. Nobody by Hillary can make it happen. Any other choice will be his biggest mistake. Serge Terenne Diet tech Kateri Residence NYC

I would like to believe Obama will bring about the kind of "change" that working people need. He certainly has perfected the rhetoric of being outside of politics as usual. Many times, however, workers have had their hopes raised by supposedly "labor friendly" politicians only to see themselves disappointed soon after. Political action is fine but it cannot be the main focus of our efforts. We need to do a better job of building up community organizing efforts. After all, the change that workers need will only come through them and not from politicians controlled by corporate interests. We cannot outspend corporate America but we can out organize them. .
