iSpeak - Holiday Tunes

The holiday season is upon us--Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Kings Day--and it is a time for seasonal music, secular and religious, popular and classical. What is your favorite holiday song (or version of a song) or album or genre? Why?

"Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas"

I don’t know the title of this song but on of the lines say: “Last Christmas, I gave you my heart but you gave it away.”

These songs just warm my soul during the holiday season. All that appears wrong before I listen disappears when I hear these songs: Stevie Wonder singing The Christmans Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire), Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, The Pretenders (Chrissie Hynde) version and also the Charlie Brown Christmas classic, Christmas Time Is Here, either by the Vince Guardaldi Trio or Cyrus Chestnut. If there weren't a zillion copyright laws to address, I would download the latter to automatically play when you reach our Union website. I hope that this season, everyone can spend some peaceful time in a warm, comfortable space, relaxing and letting yourself dream to these songs. Peace.

“Joy To the World.” During this holiday Season, Our Savior Jesus was born to bear the sins of the world. That is definitely a joy in my book. I thank God for him.
