My New Year’s resolution will be to fix my credit, because I have been postponing this forever. I realized that it's very important in order for me to buy a house. And I also want to tell my family that I love them since I don't say that very often. I also want to wish everyone a healthy and a safe New Year. Please don’t drink and drive. God bless you all. My wish for the New Year is that our Union take the time to help take care of those members who need it most---those Union members injured on the job. Every day a member goes without a means of income while injured is devastating (especially when it was the only household income). Fighting the Worker's Comp. battle against the employer (who doesn't believe those members deserve to be paid for the time lost) is a lonely, depressing, and difficult battle for our injured members to fight!

At the beginning of this New Year, I would like to think that we as a team are all committed to keeping the cost of materials and services coming into to our healthcare facilities low, so that we may continue to realize the benefits we as 1199SEIU have become accustomed to, and therefore will be able to prosper in the future as we have in the past. Happy New Year! John Shields Purchasing Boston Medical Center Boston
